Chicago – and running update
This past week Kelly and I decided to get away for a few days just by ourselves before the new school year started up. Our destination of choice? Chicago! We had spent so much time in the car this summer, me driving, Kelly sleep … er, uh … riding shotgun (love ya babe) and decided that we didn’t want to go anywhere that required a lot of driving, so we decided on the train! We drove about an hour to Carbondale, IL and took the Amtrak into Chicago.
We had a lot of fun exploring the city, doing touristy things, eating good food, and just enjoying our time. I’m sure Kelly will give a much more detailed description of our trip on her blog sometime soon … so check it out: www.barbericwife.blogspot.com
We also had a long training run while we were in Chicago. 13 miles. Running in Chicago weather was SO much nicer than running in the humidity we’ve had around here lately!
Here’s a little update on the marathon training and fundraising for His Voice Global:
Again, thanks for all of your support!

Congrats on 13 miles! Good luck with the rest of the training and fundraising. I began blogging during my current training with Team World Vision. This blog started out for me to help raise awareness for my fundraising goals, but through feedback I have heard that it is inspiring other runners to meet their running goals. Perhaps God will encourage you two through it as well: http://runningwithperseveranceblog.com/2011/08/08/93/
I love and support His Voice Global. It’s amazing to see what God can do through your commitment to them!!
